Great Compact Curler

I had high hopes for this eyelash curler and the fact that it doesn't have anything that is perishable on it like the ones that everyone seems to have. The suggestion was to heat it with the hair dryer and then apply to the lashes I tried that but I may have been a little hesitant to do this, so I only heated it for a little bit and sometimes not at all. I held it in place for 10-20 seconds but it doesn't seem to curl as well as my old metal one. Maybe I am doing something not quite right.
