\u200bUnfortunately\u200b,\u200b strip lashes aren’t one-size-suits-all. Here’s how to find the ideal lash type for your eye shape and hacks for applying them \u200bnaturally\u200b.<\/p>\n

WHAT ‘S YOUR EYE SHAPE?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Almond eyes’ are considered \u200bas the eye shape\u200b to suit all strip lashes\u200b (\u200bThe almond eye shape is when your irises disappear into your upper and lower eyelids wh\u200bile looking straight ahead).\u200b Not the shape of your eyes? Here are some other common shapes and structures, which – of course – come in many variations.<\/p>\n

\u200bM\u200basterclass\u200b in the False Lash\u200b<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Deep-set eyes\u200b – \u200bWhen your eyes are set deeper into the head creating an illusion of a more prominent brow bone. \u200bLashes that are longer in length at the cent\u200ber of the \u200bstrip lash will be a good fit for this eye shape.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Downturned eyes\u200b – When the outer corners of the eyes appear to be drawing downwards. \u200bShorter strip lash\u200bes\u200b that \u200bare\u200b longer in the outer corners \u200bwill lift your eyes.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Hooded eyes\u200b – When the crease on your eyelid isn’t visible. \u200bThin strip lash\u200bes\u200b in a shorter length\u200b fits this eye shape\u200b.<\/p>\n

Prominent eyes\u200b – When your eyelids \u200blook projected in the eye socket area. Try balancing \u200bthe top lashes with strip lashes on the bottom\u200b as well as the top which will give the illusion of pushing back your eyes.<\/p>\n

0: Removing The Lashes From The Box: Hold them in the packet under your nose with the lashes facing outwards; this will identif\u200bies the left and right lashes \u200bsince\u200b they’re not always marked. I\u200bt does matter i\u200bf you bend or break the lash from the inner corner\u200b.\u200b<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1: Be\u200b sure to measure the length of the lash to make sure it fits your eye shape. If the strip needs to be cut to \u200btrimmed snip the outer edge completely with small nail scissors. This will avoid lashes poking your eyebal\u200bl.<\/p>\n

2: \u200bBend both edges of the lash \u200binward to create a “C” shape and hold for a couple of seconds. Th\u200bis is the best way\u200badd curve to ensure the lash band fits the eye shape and\u200b remains on without the corners lifting up. \u200bThis alone will make the rest of the process effortless.<\/p>\n

3: Apply a high-quality \u200badhesive such as DUO Eyelash Adhesive for lasting results (Brascia suggests avoiding the \u200badhesive\u200b included with the false eyelashes). Be generous at the inner and outer corners \u200bto ensure the lashes will \u200bstay on\u200b \u200bas you blink. For super long-lasting application do the ‘double adhesive’ technique by applying dots of glue along your lash line as well as on the \u200bfalsies.<\/p>\n

\"Apply<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

4: Wait ten seconds or so for the glue to become more tacky\u200b\u200b before\u200b applying the lash. This is the best way to keep the strip from slipping around while you’re trying to line it up properly.<\/p>\n

5: \u200bYour natural lash line\u200b should be where to aim your strip lashes – right on top of your real lashes, \u200bbut \u200bnot touching the eyelid at all. The glue dries clear, so don’t worry if a little gets on your skin. Remembering to place your falsies where your natural bulk of eyelashes begin, look down and press the strip lash against your lash line in the centre, the outer edge and inner corner.<\/p>\n

6: Once \u200bboth lashes have been applied\u200b, you may now add mascara; this will help integrate the natural lashes with the false ones.<\/p>\n

7: \u200bDon’t worry \u200bif you see a gap showing on the eyelid between your real lashes and falsies, \u200bjust fill in the gap using a matte black eye shadow as a liner to hide it (try\u00a0Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Shadow in Noir ultra-matte deep carbon black).<\/p>\n

8: If you want to create more uplift with your lashes, finish by gently pushing against the lashes at the edge of the inner lash line\u200b to create an uplift effect. \u200b<\/p>\n

Removal Tips: Always remove false lashes \u200bfirst \u200bbefore taking off \u200bthe \u200brest of your eye makeup. Pre-soften the glue with a cotton swab that’s been soaked in an oily makeup remover\u200b. Dab the swab along the lash line to loosen the \u200badhesive and break down its stickiness. With your eye open, take hold of the lash at tip of the outer corner.
